This 25-track collection hops all over the place in delivering samples of the legendary blues duo Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, featuring selections from all phases of their career together. The sound is generally good, but a few of these cuts have obvious surface noise, and the occasional bouts of crackles, pops, and snaps indicate this was mastered from vinyl sources, a couple possibly even from old 78s. Not that any of this makes an unpleasant listen, and truthfully, this would be a great introduction to Terry & McGhee if the disc annotation were just a little better. ~ by Steve Leggett
