Boulevard Vintage's first box set of "Down Home Blues" featured 17 tracks from Chicago. None of those are duplicated here on Volume 3. The industrial north became home to thousands of workers who journeyed from the south, mostly from Mississippi, to find well-paid work. Where the workers went, so did their music. Chicago soon boasted the largest share. No more travelling from town to town to play Juke Joints. They could move from club to tavern to house party within the space of an evening. Under the custodianship of these down home players, but unknown to them at the time, this music began a whole new chapter in the history of the blues. From proto-country blues through to today's modern scene, this set illustrates on of the biggest steps the world of blues ever took - The post-war Chicago Blues.
