Nora Lee King

Active 1930s - 1940s, Pre-War Blues.

b. USA. King became quite well known in the 30s and early 40s, mostly singing the blues with flair, and developed an easy-going rapport with audiences. In the mid-40s she recorded with Mary Lou Williams but most of her later records found her in harness with her husband, Lawrence Lucie. In her early years, King performed and often recorded under a bewildering array of pseudonyms, including Lenore King, Lenore Kinsey, Susan King and Susan Lenore King.
