Ranging from the country-blues stylings of Blind Willie McTell to modern-day pyrotechnics by Stevie Ray Vaughan, this edition of the Atlantic Blues series spotlights some of the fine blues pickers to grace many a 20th century stage and stereo. These aren't necessarily all classic performances, but most of the music is of the highest quality. The mix includes cuts by such marquee names as B.B. King and John Lee Hooker, as well as more obscure fare from the likes of Texas Johnny Brown and Cornell Dupree. And for a bit of soul, there's even a clutch of songs by Albert King and Ike and Tina Turner. A fine blues party soundtrack.
